Tools
Net, rod, axe, shovel and watering can, each in Plain, Sturdy and Royal, and only the one in your hand does anything.
Take a tool out with the number keys (or LB on a gamepad) and only that tool acts. Every tool comes in Plain, Sturdy and Royal: better tiers come from goal recipes, and tools can be dyed.
Your first tools come two ways. Make them at the workbench by the fountain from recipes you know from the start: a net or a rod from 5 branches, an axe from 5 branches and 1 stone, a watering can from 3 branches and 2 stones, a shovel from 2 branches, 3 stones and 1 iron. Or buy the plain one at Mabel's counter in The Shop: 300 Nectar for a net, a rod, an axe or a watering can, 400 for a shovel.
